The Opportunity

Value First Staffing Solutions Inc. is seeking a high-impact Senior IT Project Manager to lead large-scale, provincial-wide infrastructure and digital service initiatives. This role is focused on the successful implementation of complex technology services, including Video Visitation and public-facing WiFi networks across diverse public sector facilities.

As a senior leader, you will navigate intricate stakeholder landscapes and manage multi-phased project lifecycles to ensure reliable service delivery for the province.


Key Responsibilities

In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of critical IMT initiatives:

  • Strategic Planning: Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in direct collaboration with senior business stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Deliverable Management: Developing and maintaining high-quality project artifacts, including project charters, business cases, and detailed project schedules.
  • Concurrent Management: Successfully managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Risk & Impact Oversight: Conducting and interpreting comprehensive impact and risk assessments to proactively mitigate project roadblocks.
  • Change Leadership: Leading organizational change management and communication planning to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies.
  • Infrastructure Implementation: Overseeing the provincial-wide rollout of multi-phased services, specifically focusing on Video Visitation and WiFi infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Facilitation: Leading meetings and maintaining positive relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, vendors, and government partners.

Required Qualifications

We are seeking senior-level project leadership with strong experience in infrastructure delivery, stakeholder engagement, and public sector IMT execution.

  • Technical & Leadership Experience:
    • 8 years of experience developing project deliverables (charters, business cases, project plans).
    • 8 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
    • 6 years of experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • 8 years of experience conducting and interpreting impact and risk assessments.
  • 8 years of experience leading change management and communication planning.
  • 8 years of experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
  • 5 years of experience providing leadership with knowledge of public sector business functions and stakeholder environments.
  • 3 years of experience in project coordination of government and vendor-wide IMT initiatives.
  • 3 years of experience working in the Government of Alberta or a public sector organization of similar size and complexity.
  • 2 years of experience specifically overseeing the implementation of Video Visitation Services.
  • 2 years of experience specifically overseeing the implementation of WiFi Service provincial-wide projects.

Working Conditions & Requirements

  • Location: Primarily based in Edmonton. Must be available for hybrid work or onsite meetings as required.
  • Term: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027 (1-year initial contract), with a potential 12-month extension.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time (36.25 hours per week)
  • Security Clearance: A successful criminal record check is mandatory prior to commencement.
  • Mandatory Training: Upon hire, completion of courses in FOIP (Privacy), Cybersecurity, and Workplace Respect is required.
