The Opportunity
Value First Staffing Solutions Inc. is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Administrative Assistant to join our Public Sector client’s financial and childcare program branch. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of provincial childcare funding initiatives, requiring a blend of technical troubleshooting skills and administrative expertise.
You will act as a key support pillar, managing high-volume communication, resolving technical inquiries for stakeholders, and maintaining the integrity of childcare information systems.
Key Responsibilities
In this senior-level support role, your duties include:
- Technical Support: Providing customer service technical troubleshooting and resolving problem-related inquiries for program stakeholders.
- System Management: Using specialized tools including the Childcare Licensing Portal and the Child Care Information System (CCIS) to track and manage provider data.
- Calendar & Tasks: Expertly managing complex calendars, email messaging, and task tracking using Microsoft Outlook.
- Data Coordination: Utilizing Excel to organize program data, reconcile records, and support financial reporting for childcare grants.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Interacting professionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to provide program information and resolve administrative bottlenecks.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical Experience:
- 1 year of experience providing customer service technical troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- 1 year of experience using Microsoft Outlook for professional email, task, and calendar tracking.
- 1 year of experience using Excel in a professional work setting.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- 1 year of experience with Child Care in Alberta (Licensing, Subsidy, or Funding).
- 1 year of experience working specifically within childcare grant funding programs in Alberta.
- 1 year of direct experience working with the Childcare Licensing Portal and Child Care Information System (CCIS).
- Education: Relevant post-secondary education in Office Administration or a related field.
Working Conditions & Requirements
- Location: Based in Edmonton. Candidates must be available for on-site or hybrid work as required.
- Security Clearance: A successful criminal record check is mandatory prior to commencement.
- Mandatory Training: Upon hire, completion of courses in FOIP (Privacy), Cybersecurity, and Workplace Respect is required.
